Benfleet and District Historical Society
The Society was started in 1955 and since then has enjoyed a
successful series of regular monthly meetings (usually during the winter
months) covering historical matters both local and national.
During the summer months our Outings Secretary arranges visits for members to
local historical sites and buildings. These can be booked in advance at the
AGM. If trips are fully booked we hold a Waiting List to fill spaces that may
arise during the year.
Following a delay caused by vandalism, we are pleased to announce that the Cottage will re-open for the 2025 Season from 26th May.
The Dutch Cottage on Canvey Island will be open for the 2025 Season on Sundays 4th May until 14th September 1pm until 4pm and Wednesdays 4th June until 3rd September 1pm until 4pm - please contact Curator for more details
